Message from New Board Chair Don Lareau

I am honored to be serving as the new Chair of the Board for OFRF. As an organic family farmer in Western Colorado, I work daily to ensure our farm’s success and know the importance of the work OFRF does in research, education, and advocacy. This spring, I invite you to consider OFRF as a partner in the work of supporting organic agriculture.

Last year, OFRF surveyed organic farmers across the country to identify their most pressing challenges and research priorities. We used this feedback to issue a request for proposals for our 2016 grant cycle. We received 59 highly credible and relevant research grant proposals totaling more than $1,000,000. Faced with some very tough decisions, we selected 6 projects focused on farmers’ top concerns: weed and pest management, soil health, and water management during drought and flooding.

We are committed to continuing this vital research. Organic farmers have told us what they need and we are responding.

With your support, we will fund even more research to protect natural resources, sustain healthy rural communities, and ensure that everyone has access to organic food. We can’t do it without you.

Please join our efforts and donate today!

With gratitude,

Don Lareau
