The acreage of organic horticultural crops requiring bee pollination is at an all-time high at the same time that the number of managed honey bees in the U.S. has declined by 50% since World War II. Native bees can help bridge this gap. Organic Farming for Bees is a comprehensive set of materials and instructional guidelines for native pollinators conservation on organic farms, offering organic farmers information on how to provide habitat for native pollinators, the role of native pollinators in agriculture, and suggested pollinator-friendly practices. Xerces Society staff completed five workshops presetning the Organic Farming for Bees curriculum, reaching over 400 farmers and farm educators.
